The Waiohine Gorge is one of the entrances to the Tararua Forest Park and the road into it terminates at Wall's Whare a popular picnic spot, camping area and set off point for trampers.

Cross the spectacular swing bridge and walk the Loop Track which takes you through native and exotic forest. Along the way you will encounter most of the common bush birds, including Rifleman and Tomtit.
