Rare Native Plant Gems or Species at Risk

What makes species rare and how are they evaluated as species-at-risk? Jane will share some of her experiences studying the ecology, monitoring and working on recovery of endangered plant species from Wood Poppy in London to rare gems of the tallgrass prairies on Walpole island.

Friends of Don East Planting Event

10:00am - 12 Noon, Windfield Park (plantings)
Join FODE as we add to the large planting done by students from York Mills Collegiate this past spring. We will work on adding another 250 trees and shrubs. 800 trees have already been planted here! Shovels and gloves will be provided. We'll be working just below the Banbury Community Centre, 120 Banbury Road at the bottom of the hill. Park for free at the Community Centre.

Come join Friends of the Don East as we reforest a wetland edge area next to the Taylor Creek Park/Goulding Estate Wetland. It will be a fun morning with with enough people it won't take too long either! Meet at the trailhead/kiosk in the small parking lot on the east side of Dawes Road, just north of Crescent Town Road.
