Birds of the Wairarapa and where to see them
Riversdale Beach

Popular qith tourists for much of the summer, this quiet unassuming beach community offers more than good surfing and sand with a consistency ideal for sand-castle building. Keep an eye out for seabirds such as Australasian Gannet which regularly patrols the coast here.

Riversdale is a permanent community so there are a full range of services available year-round, although some of the cafes and snack bars are open summer only. If you enjoy quiet walks on the beach with a brisk head wind, then early winter is a good time to visit.
